Wild Thumper question

So I broke down and asked if a Wild Thumper can be added to my order I placed yesterday. Hopefully it will go through before the 10% sale ends. Has anyone else purchased one yet? In the assembly documentation it says to refer to the Product page for code to get you started. However, there is nothing listed on the Product page except a link to the instructions. Does anyone have any code to get started or am I on my own?

The guy who designed the Wild Thumper hangs out at Let's Make Robots. He has a long post about the robot here.

IIRC, many people drive three motors together so you only need two PWM channels.

IMO, the Propeller is a good controller for this type of robot (though I think the Propeller is a good controller for every type of robot).

Yes, It comes with 2 HB-25's.

I agree. I found one on Amazon for $100.00 less but it did not come with Motor controllers or any control board. I almost bought that one since I have several HB-25's and a few Propeller boards. However, the cost of the HB-25's makes up for the extra amount and plus I would rather give my money to Parallax. I was only asking about the code because it states it on the instructions and I thought maybe there was a quick program just to get me started. I have the Object for the HB-25's so will roll my own while I wait on it to arrive. Thanks for the link. I will take a look at it.

To pay for this I have several items for sale in the classifieds. I had figured I would order it once I hit my first $100.00 which I did today!!!! I can't wait for it to get here. I have been working on a DIY Bot for several years but every time I start working on it something always seems to come up that takes me away from it. I plan to lock myself in a room when Thumper arrives until I have it going!!!!

So am I the only one on these Forums that has interest in the Wild Thumper? I can't believe no one else has one yet. If you have one, please share your experience with it. I am trying to learn SimpleIDE over the next week so I can hopefully have some code for it upon arrival. I have a ton of code for running HB-25's using a Stamp but nothing as of yet for the Prop. I really like the fact that it has the mounting holes basically all over the Bot body. I have a ton of Erector set pieces from last years garage sales and I intend on using them to beef up my Wild Thumper. I see an arm in the near future along with other great items.

They just came out a few weeks ago on the Parallax site. Give it a little time. Takes a while to amass some hobby cash for that bot :)

Oh, I thought they were launched in April. So, I guess it would be kind of cool if I am the first one on the block to get one!!!!
