you - I mean every single member of the US-society - will stand up and say "no this is too much!" ?
to be not misunderestood: as a german I owe the USA very much. The USA helped terminating the world war 2 and the dictatorship of Hitler.
For that even if it is more than 60 years ago I still say thank you very much! You (the USA) helped us to become a democracy.
As a person who is fully convinced of democracy and liberal rights, I feel obliged to point to the things that are threatening democracy
and these rights. Even in a pure technical forum.
I know it very well. The propeller-forum is a non-political pure technical forum. But again I ask
How much must happen until members and moderators of a technical forum start saying "no!" ?
Are you already scared that if you would post something critical some people will show up? Or that they will observe you? Than you already have lost.
500 million communications intercepted every month! Just in germany.
What's left from the spirit of freedom, the courage to take care to develop things to be more better?
To me it seems that you - the US-society - you have approved the paranoid security lovers to take over the power.
What do you think? What must happen until you start discussing this even in a technical forum?
Please post me some links what americans DO against this!
@the moderators:
please post a clear statement what would be a scenario where you would start using a technical forum to support freedom
and the right for untouchable privacy??
I'm very excited if and what kind of reactions will follow this posting.
best regards
Stefan

Because the world is full of crazy people, I have nothing to fear from our government.
I would be concerned if the government targeted specific groups of innocent people and did them harm.
The government of the US, however, now has the means to monitor communications. Any communication will be held against the citizens when it is to the governements advantage, to remain in power, eventually. WE are not the terrorists. The WAR ON DRUGS was BS. The WAR ON TERROR is BS. Wars are ONLY against governments. "War on Terror" is a lisencse to exerrcise military force without restriction of law. Allowing this to continue is whats crazy.
Some in government truely believe they are doing good, but they are wrong. This is why we have laws to stop them.
No. As it so happens, I dislike my current government intensely. But I intend doing something about it by spending a whole day soon standing outside a polling booth handing out "how to vote" pamphlets. I treasure the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom so I can participate in democracy. I also welcome those who come to my country (Australia) from war torn places like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and many other places, and I am greatly heartened by the way they also embrace democracy.
I hope they are observing me. I hope that if I type "How do I make a bomb" into google, that someone IS watching.
The greatest tragedy is when ordinary people stop participating in government. When they stop showing an interest in policy development, when they stop talking to their local representative. When they feel they have lost the ability to change things.
As a consequence, this thread will be locked. Thank you for your understanding ...
