'Interesting write-up! But did the BOE-Bot just shrink? Photo from the article:

I think it just looks small compared to the inordinately large foot!

I think the picture has been Photoshopped. Look at the texture of the carpet surrounding the BOE-Bot vs. that in the rest of the photo. The texture near the BB is much finer, as if the BB and a surrounding bit of carpet were dropped into the shot and blended at the edges.

I think it is an illusion. At first glance it looks like her foot is right in front of the BOE-Bot, which makes it look small by comparison. Based upon the shadows I think the photo was snapped when her foot was higher and further away than the bot, not right in front of it.

Parallax stuff is small. The author mentioned using an SD card to program the BOE-BOT but a standard BOE-BOT does not have an SD Card. Was he referring to a Propeller Bot or a Shield Bot?

    Probably the Propeller Activity Board.

One of the photos from the article shows a BoeBot with some wheels that are similar to the Scribbler and S2 with rubber O ring tires. Do they sell these?

Good eye, Whit! Although I was involved, Parallax should be the one to let the cat completely out of the bag. :)

Oh my, oh no! How do I handle the gag order amidst such powerful emotions to share the future?!

There's much more than new wheels on that robot, Whit! For starters, it goes darned fast (3x faster) and straight! And. .

I best stop and not visit this thread again.

The problem is the gag order is straight "from the horses mouth"!

Remember, the smaller you make the BOE-bot, the more you can pack into the cargo bay of the Elev-8 "Super Condor"

Now I can't sleep! Darn you GRACEY! Of course if a sample was heading toward Louisiana - I might get some rest...

Edit - Went back and studied the photo some more and now see the encoders and all the holes in the wheels too!

The article is focused on stuff that is in the field, except for the monster ELEV-8. (If there's another naming contest I claim dibs on DE-MONSTER-8.) For that kind of journal the P2 is still vaporware. Let them hit the next-year-is-long-term high notes for the finance guys.

While I know it's a smart move in that same sector I found the "C-programmable" stuff a bit grating, as if PBasic and C are the only languages Parallax products support, but I know I know reasons.

    (Pssst! Whit! )

(I have information that will cure your insomnia.) It comes @ a price however...

Paypal or bank wires are too traceable. $$$ in an unmarked envelope sent to my 2nd cousin's aunt's best friend's auto mechanic could work, maybe?.

I'll work out the details and get back to you...

Will you take some nice, crisp Rubels instead of Dollars?
