Hey everyone. I have been getting a lot of e-mail and PMs from Savage///Circuits members wondering why their login doesn't work. Here's why...

A few months ago between a broken add-on and some issue with Internet Explorer entries in the Blog section of Savage///Circuits were getting corrupted and there was no immediate indication of this. Over time the problems got worse to the point of simply clicking on the Blog button caused everything to crash. I tried repairing the database and removing all blog entries but the problem persisted so I was forced to disable the Blog section. At this point I realized the forums we slowly starting to exhibit the same issue. I put up a notice for about a month hoping all members would see it. The notice explained the issues and that posting was disabled.

I spent the next few months backing up the Projects and Reviews (tediously), however I could not save the forum content as it is threaded. I could also not save any account information since the member passwords are encrypted so even an admin can't see them. I would have had to save all the info one record a time and re-enter every member the same way, picking a random password and attempting to notify them of the change. During this time I discovered some members had e-mail accounts that no longer existed and messages were getting bounced so I decided to just start fresh and have everyone re-register. It's a bit inconvenient, but allowed me to get the site up and running much faster.

So reviews are 95% restored as are projects (which are the core of the site). If you're interested in being a member of the site again you will have to register again. I have taken steps to help ensure this doesn't happen again, but this time it was just a combination of things I wasn't aware of. I'd like to see those who were members return and participate again. I have some new projects in the queue that are simply waiting for the website to be restored and then new content can go up. I hope to see you all again, and again, I apologize for the inconvenience. The current news is on the front page here: http://www.savagecircuits.com

done, I hope Wendy did well during her surgery.
I know the stress of that as my wife had cancer surgery 6.5 years ago.

Jim, thanks for the well wishes. She's doing much better, but had to stay an extra day for observation.

Chris, I truly wish you good health. In one place you mentioned type II, and in another place mentioned shots. I hope you were referring to testing and did not escalate to type I. I have found through research and trials that limiting the diet to vegetables can eradicate the fat molecule which blocks the absorption function of insulin. Take care, best wishes for family, and thanks for the great website.

    Humanoido,

I was taking insulin shots when I was first diagnosed with Type II. At that time my sugar was way out of control and it was spiking and crashing a lot. I eventually got a handle on it and while I am still affected by Type II, it's really down to just needing to exercise more. As for the website, it's slow starting over, but we're getting there.

I'm with you on this Chris as i'm also type 2 , It's hard with lifestyles the way they are to control it sometimes, shift working doesn't help with trying to achieve a regular eating habit and although exercise is a key, work again can get in the way.
I read somewhere that a breakthrough is on the horizon for type 2 sufferers and once the lengthy 5 year trials are over this may be announced?

Honk Kong has bypassed lengthy trials and is offering an immediate solution, apparently with a high success rate. The country has become one of the most notable technologically advanced locations in the world for medical treatment.

Lengthy trials can be a pain but what do you do, either use the population as guinea pigs and suffer the consequences or wait until drugs are deemed safe by the correct procedures. ethical and moral dilemmas abound!

skylight, totally true...having a career that involves sitting for the most part doesn't help the type II, but having sit-down hobbies really gets you. Parallax is really good about encouraging employees to go for a walk in the business park and groups go daily. I have been trying to include myself in that, but like now, with working at home two weeks and trying to be there for my wife who is recovering from surgery, it is difficult. I am standing more than ever and my feet are killing me at the end of the day and yet I don't feel like I am getting enough exercise still.

Correct, while I have Type II and am still working on it, my wife recently came home from surgery and is recovering slowly. She has tracked her progress at the link that Publison posted. She has her own spot on my website.

    Hey Chris,

Good to hear that the other half is mending well. Thankfully, I missed the diabetes bullet, but due to lifestyle, bad habits (like carbs and bacon and such) and etc., I did not dodge the cardiac bullet. Excercise is important, but if I had not gone from north of 300 down to low 200sin 6 months, I probably would not be a forum member. I used the protein sparing modified fast (MD prescribed amount of proteins and NON-carbs). It is southbeach ? on steroids. If someone wants to just drop a few pounds, I (and MDs) would discourage that, but if it is a matter of drop or die, go for it. It also seems to have had some effect in reducing insulin resistance, but I have not really tracked any of that as I do not have that issue to worry about. Hard part is living with out the carbs. The first few days are VERY hard, then you just don't care if you see a carb; no desire for them.

Good luck to you both and better health,

    Frank
