Any ETA on the Linux version of SimpleIDE v0.9.2x? Just curious, not trying to rush anyone

Thanks
Daniel

It is very close. If I'm lucky a Debian archive can be finished this week. Standard platform install packages will follow later this summer.

Cool beans, especially since I use Debian. Thanks for the info.

    Jazzed,

Is it OK to post SimpleIDE builds for the Raspberry Pi and other ARM devices now?
What branch of the repo is best for that?

    zappman,

Are you suggesting, with your smiley, that SimpleIDE on the Pi is some kind of joke?

Sure it might not be the most practical thing but it does work and is one small step outside of an Intel/AMD dominated world.

I don't think it was meant maliciously. I think zappman was just excited for the opportunity. I know I am. It's hard to read emotion into text.

I'll probably try it out on a Cubbieboard though, since I have one of those.

Yeah. Perhaps my sarcasm detector set off a false alarm.

Cubbieboard and SimpleIDE should be just fine. It's nice that we are getting faster and cheaper ARM boards every day. I'm eagerly awaiting for this beast https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/A20/A20-OLinuXino-MICRO/ to come on line.

Heater, you can build and test SimpleIDE from the spinside branch.
Use the ./linrelease.sh script. Don't release this version to the wild yet.

    Thanks,

    Hi Heater,

I just purchased the Raspberry Pi about 2 weeks ago, and would like to put Simple IDE on it
    .
Please see this thread at Savage Circuits:
    http://www.savagecircuits.com/showthread.php?47-Raspberry-Pi-Model-B

What I really would like to do, is be able to write and upload Propeller code from the Pi.

I want to put both a Pi and a Propeller on one of my robots. Then remote into the Pi via Wi-Fi and change the Propeller code.

The smiley was just to say, I will be happy to put Simple IDE on the Pi.

    Zappman,
Excellent. You will be pleased to hear that SimpleIDE works fine on the Pi.
I made some patches such that you can connect a Prop directly to the Raspi UART on the GPIO header and program it. No USB/Serial dongle required.
I promised not to post anymore SimpleIDE builds until Jazzed and Co were happy with it.
Howerver I did post an older build that works very nicely.
Send me a PM if you can't find it here.
