On one of my projects, I stumbled over a program called AAC Keys (actually developed by an organization very near me.) which accepts seral data, for both keystrokes and mouse information.
This is how I was able to overcome of the USB limitation. There's no reason why the Propeller couldn't be used in this application, but I do understand why Caleb used a teensy.
