Looking for good source to buy gears

Does anyone know of where I might purchase gears. I have been getting my gears through Stock Drive Products and would like to explore finding a cheaper source, especially one that charges less for shipping and handling.

Thanks guys. I have ordered from sdp, but their selection is a bit limited for gears with .25 inch bore. There shipping and handling is more than the price of a few gears as well.

There's always Berg and PIC, but I doubt their prices will be any better than SDP's.

But you did not specify a material, so it's hard to know for sure what you're after.

http://www.bostongear.com/ http://www.martinsprocket.com/ and http://www.qtcgears.com/ have good selections of gears. Boston and Martin gear have a large selection of inch gears too. http://www.mcmaster.com also has a useful selection and the shipping is fast and cheap. Also http://www.amazon.com industrial section has a surprisingly good selection if you can find it.

It might also help to look at the metric gears. A lot of the vendors have a better selection of metric. If you still need a 0.25 inch bore in a metric gear, I'd order 6mm bore gears and a 0.25 inch reamer to expand the bore. (won't work very well with keyed bores.)

Thanks for all of the suggested sources. Although many of them may not be inexpensive, an increase in selection is a plus.
