Spin files not visible in Win8

I bought a Toshiba laptop in March with Win8 installed. Since then, files and folders I have saved with the prop tool are not visible in Windows Explorer. I am the "administrator" and have all permissions checked in the "users" area of Control Panel. Anyone have a similar problem or solution?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

They get hidden in the "Virtual Store". My files end up in "C:\Users\Duane\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Parallax Inc\Propeller Tool v1.2.7 (R2)".

Windows doesn't like applications saving files to the Program Files folder. I wish Parallax let you change the location of the library folder.

I now use my DropBox folder to store my spin files. It's a bit of a pain if I want to add files to the library though. I have to copy the files there outside of the Prop Tool.

Alternatively you could install the PropTool into a different location (e.g. under Users/Public/programs).

That was to be my suggestion. C:\parallax\ works great.

Yes. It drove me half crazy a couple of weeks ago. Files were in a sub folder of c:\program files and they were not there, yet the program that created them (Eagle) could find them.

There is something special now about the c:\program files folder. I asked an IT expert and they say where it is heading is putting everything in My Documents

Which is all well and good except for files that fall half way between the two groups - eg a custom library in eagle which is my custom library, so on the one hand it should be in My Documents, but on the other hand, it belongs with all the other library files in c:\program files\eagle\libs. I hope Eagle can copy files because it is now not possible to share those library files with anyone.

I'm not sure Microsoft has thought this through. As Duane says, it is going to affect Parallax programs as well.

Thanks all! I'll reinstall the Prop tool at C:\Parrallax.
