Circuit Simulation Software

Does anyone know of an inexpensive or even free circuit simulating software package that enables the user to create their own parts? I think it would be awesome if Parallax would create something like this for their boards!!!! Since they have not done this I may put it on my "to do someday" list but until then I would like something that I can simulate circuits with and add either Stamp or Prop chips.

Linux has quite a large selection of free SPICE applications with the ability to add parts. But the problem seems to be that the really good SPICE programs (due to having the best emulation data) are costly.

The for profit companies that create the components don't seem to want to share their data with free software. I suspect they want a royalty for providing good info.

I love ltspice. It runs perfectly on Linux under wine.

Of course you are not about to drop a Propeller or other micro in there. Being "Heater" I have spent a good long time simulating vacuum tube circuits with it.
