OBEX features

It would be nice to have some way to include or point to variants of main objects in the OBEX.
Here is an example. One of my favorite objects is Jeff Martin''s Quadrature Encoder. It allows up to 16 encoders for the price of one. Spectacular code, which I can barely read.

One of these days, I am going to add a couple of lines and see if I can include delta time in the same way Jeff uses delta position. This will
make for very accurate velocity and acceleration measurements... which no doubt someone else might add.
Generally tiny modifications get lost in the forum, making progress grind to a halt.
It would be nice to be able to track the minor variants through the principle object in the OBEX.
The second issue has to due with moving the old OBEX objects to the new OBEX. I use google a lot... and it has the habit of pointing me to
an object on a page that no longer works...this feels terrible.
