Stingray - how heavy is it and motor selection question
I am thinking about getting a Stingray chassis kit and using different motors because of the H bridge driver board I have and the battery power pack I plan to use.
My H bridge pwm controller board is limited to 2 Amps per motor and my power pack is a 5v 2 amp (10 Watt) rechargeable LiPo.
I plan to use an arduino and eventually add an Xbee, distance sensors and other sensors (compass, gps, etc)
Does anybody know how much the Stingray weighs as it is sold now?
This may help me select an appropriate geared motor.
I have ready over the Stingray items in this forum and saw one that suggest 75 - 100 gear reduction and to use encoders.
I think the motors that come with the kit will be fine for medium to high speed lowish torgue application.
I am looking to achieve slow to medium speed with good torque and control and to use the motor controller board and my battery pack.
I found the following Pololu parts, anybody have any suggestions, recommendations if the motor/gearbox listed below would give the stingray slow to medium speed with good torque and control and to use the motor controller board and my battery pack?
I may have to drill holes in the stingrays motor mount plate to match the Pololu Universal Aluminum Mounting Hub for 4mm Shaft, but this shouldn't be a problem if spare stingray motor mounts plates are available separately. (just in case I do a poor job of aligning the new holes or they new holes conflict with the current holes)
