Personally, I'd like to see some one build a good robotic prehensile tail. That item does not seem to be listed.

On the other hand there is the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_computers List of Fictional Computers which might provide more practical guidance.
(Disclaimer: I have an item on that list.)
The main thing is that we often start with what we can imagine and then create something with what we have to achieve that goal. So many items start out as fiction and years later become reality.
It seems Dick Tracy has had the most success.
