Motorized Articulating Camera Arm
This project has been in the design stage for some time now and I am finally getting around to working on it. I currently have a board camera similar to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/600TVL-D-WDR-Color-Board-Camera-with-OSD-Menu-DNR-CCD-/220746200096?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item33657fb420 and I have a 9-22mm zoom lens for it. Just today I ordered this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190759987516?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 The plan is to modify the arm with one or possibly 2 stepper motors that will be controlled using a standard Sony remote. Since I have a few Homework boards I figured I would use one for this project. I thought about using a Prop but I think that would be overkill for this since it will only be controlling the stepper motor controllers and the IR receiver. I plan to mount the arm on the wall above my 32" TV/Monitor that is directly in front of my work bench. I will use the this for assembling projects and also for SMD soldering and regular soldering. Eventually I would like to add servos to control the zoom and focus of the camera.
