Does it bug anyone else that Intel's cpu naming scheme is so convoluted?

    I seem to recall:

    i3 dual core
    i5 quad core
    i7 quad core HT

Now there is only a small difference between the i3 and i5 offered in the OP's laptop.

The i3 doesn't have turbo or AES new instructions, the i5 does, essentially little difference.

I grabbed one at Staples and that $100 off coupon works. They were sold out of that unit, but they had the next one down, the C855-S5350, for $279 after $50 rebate. They threw in a coupon for a free Windows 8 class!

The main problem of these laptops is their low resolution, paired with relatively large screen size. So image is VERY grainy.

Neither mine are way too fresh, but higher resolution is always better.

Staples has lots of laptops on sale, and that fatwallet coupon takes $100 off any Win 8 machine. This $299 HP AMD-based laptop would only be $199 after using that coupon (WHICH expires today). Probably a decent basic machine. http://www.staples.com/HP-2000-2c32nr-156-Laptop/product_188412&cmArea=CIRCULAR

EDIT: I just called Staples and that coupon won't work on the cheap HP. That item # is the only one singled out in the fine print. Foiled again !!!
