New OBEX has 666 objects in it - scary!

I had always wondered about the number of programs in the OBEX. The new one makes it pretty easy to calculate. But 666 entries is kind of scary though!

    I think they are going to be adding many features to it.

    666 objects?!?! Ouch.. That wasn't intentional on my part. :)

    Yes, there is a fantastic search feature which will dig deeper than simple object name search. It wasn't ready to be activated yet, but we'll have it soon.

    In the meantime, select "All" objects, set "projects per" to -All-, then use your browser's Control-F (find) to search the titles for something you want.

    Jeff I had modified the only object I have in the OBEX and all I did was to mark that it has assembly also besides Spin. I did not change the program in any way although now it says modified with todays date. I hope when you guys transfer the download count mine will have the old OBEX count.

    @ratronic,

    I have been given a directive concerning download count, but I do understand this is on the team's list.

    Thanks Jeff I had only modified it because the new OBEX did not have that it contained assembly even though the old OBEX did. I guess that got missed in the translation between old and new OBEX. I didn't want to be penalized on the translation download count because I corrected an error today caused by the translation.

    Hmm... and it is a four letter word, like DEBT or WORK, or LOVE or PLAY or.....

    Please, no mystical numerology.

    Ok i'm fine with using the OBEX as long as I don't have a big black growling dog watching me when I do

    ....and if you look at it like a hex number, 0beX, the digits add up to 25 and if you add those digits together, you get 7 which is the number of COGs you have free on a Propeller unless you kill COG0.... And then there's the mystical properties of 7 to consider....

    Edit: but wait, there's more, if you convert 25x to decimal, you get 37, then add those digits together to get 10 which are the very essence of digital computing as we know it....the powers of the 0beX are unrivaled.

    and still, 6+6+7 = 19...1+9 = 10, so we maintain the binary essence, excellent!!!

    Let's see... 111 is 666 in base 6, right? Or just 0 in base 667. Why is it that numerologist always use base 10? Ah... maybe ten is the sign of the beast.

    Actually, the SIGN of the beast is indicated by the most significant bit unless your beast is declared unsigned. The tricky beasts use one's compliment arithmetic so you actually can have a -0 beast along with your 0 beast. Then you get into the issues of little endian beasts versus big endian beasts....trust me, you really don't want to have a big endian beast, your chairs really take a beating.

    Beware, the answer to the code is near. 666 is just a diversion created by those of evil - the arduinian people. Look instead into the name - OBEX. Behold, it is Out of Body Experience X, the code that lies therein, and that thou shall pursue until the X'th power.
