Hey everyone, there is an online microcontroller poll taking place. The Propeller has a good start but it's not in the lead. How about we all help it out and cast our vote?!

LINK (poll is on the right side of the page):

Let's push this poll a bit.

Jeff

    Done!

Had to vote for the Propeller since they did not have an Intel C8008 listed. :)

(Yes I still have two unused chips in my possession)

The poll is interesting a SINGLE micro against entire families (PIC, AVR, etc.) ...I also don't recall anything called "Arduino" listed, so those folks may not know to click on AVR.

They're probably wondering why Arduino wasn't listed.

Just to let you know, you need to have cookies enabled to vote. It appears that a cookie is used to prevent people from voting more than once. Of course, if someone were to delete cookies after voting they can vote again. However, I'm not suggesting that anyone vote multiple times. :)

(Can you tell I used to live in Chicago???)

    Vote early, vote often...

voted from the desktop at the office.
Should probably vote from my laptop, too, before going home and voting from the laptop, the Mac Mini, the netbook...
Could also try to vote from my iPhone...

It pains me to have to vote against the ARM's. Especially as that is what is in my beloved Samsung Galaxy, Raspberry Pi's and all the embedded work I do. However in the context of the site hosting the poll, small MCU's powered by BASIC, I have to go with the Prop.

Of course the Prop can stand against "families" of other MCU's. The prop has the flexibility of software defined peripherals to enable a single design to be multi-purpose.

What are we voting for here anyway? I guess those guys want to gage what platform to support next with their board designs and BASIC interpreter.

It looks like you can vote from the same machine if you just wait a while.
What is your favorite microprocessor family?

    Are we cheeting?

Perhaps. Perhaps not. Those other options are free to have their posse pump them up as well. Seems they don't have a posse.

I share your pain. It really comes down to the phase of the Moon and to which chip most recently performed a miracle in my presence.
