Pretty cool, but I can see the wires supporting and moving that big puppet.
If you're gonna have wires, get off the treadmill and perform! Actually it's interesting to watch this marionette. Consider how many DOFs are going on there. It's going to be a very long time before any amount of animatronics can outdo a pair of skilled hands.
Speaking of which, the whole routine is very well done. Looks like the video was made from an old VHS tape. Check out the nice sleight of puppet hand at 3:06 .... (apparently no string) and the sad ending... Great storytelling!
Petman is a testing device, like a crash test dummy, except it's used specifically for testing chemcial haz/warfare garments. That's why the robot (a drone, in a sense) is doing stretches, runs, twisting at the waist, etc. It's so they can see if wear-and-tear causes failures in the chem suit, without having to make humans do it over and over and over and over and over.
