im using the code for the wii classic controller available in the object exchange, only ive been having issues with the wiring.

ive got the plug to the controller cut off and im using the wires within directrly attached to the board. there are 4, sda scl 3.3v and ground. there are also many small copper wires that from what ive found are used to tell the controller its plugged in.
im using a project board which has specific places for the sda and scl wires. ive got a resistor on both as well as on the ground wire, because i've found that without it connecting the power and ground causes the code to stop running.
but basically i run the code and i get the same constant numbers weather or not anything is plugged in.
how should i be wiring this?

But, SDA and SCL may need 10k pull-up resistors (resistors between each of these pins and 3.3V).
BTW: There are little adapters you can buy for just a couple bucks, so you don't have to cut the cable...
