how can basic stamp transfer data to pc via vb?

i have a problem on how to pass data from the basic stamp to the pc by using vb. I need the data because i will use the data to compared with database. I have found some code regarding this problem, but the code will get all the data from the basic stamp. What i want is only the tag id because my project use RFID module.

I hope someone from this forum help me.

Thank you for this information sir..I appreciate it..
but how can we send back data from database using vb into the basic stamp.
This is because I am using Parallax RFID read/write module and i want to write back the data into the RFID tag.
