Help with stepper motor program writting!

I am using the JX-2P plus i-Stamp2P Project board with a micro controller DRV8824/DRV8825. We are try to get this setup to turn a unipolar/bipolar stepper motor. I would just like the simplest program possible with multiple steps. I just need help writing the program for it. Any suggestions will help and wiring diagrams too. Thank you!

That is the stepper motor setup we are now currently using but how would I write the program so that it rotates 180 degrees every time a push button is pressed?

The reference erco provided gives you most of the information you need. The primer's code examples provide subroutines to step the motor forward or in reverse and show loops that step the motor through a full revolution. 180 degrees is just 1/2 revolution (1/2 the number of steps). The "What's a Microcontroller?" tutorial discusses how to use pushbuttons as well as a lot of other useful stuff. Combining the two is straightforward and "What's a Microcontroller?" has similar examples using LEDs.
