Hi,

I would like to use Ethernet with my Basic Stamp.

Do you know about a Parallax item ?.

I know Mike Green opinion here about the WIZ812MJ (Parallax code 605-05110) :

http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php/141323-Ethernet-for-Basic-Stamp?highlight=WIZ812MJ

If WIZ812MJ is not usefull with B.Stamp do you have an other alternative ?

Thanks,

I would look at the Roving Networks WiFly modules that are designed as xBee replacements. Digi now has a similar module. These mostly provide wireless serial links via Telnet although they do provide for low level (UDP) connections as well.

The Netburner SB70-100CR module allows easy acces to the ethernet as well as having a webserver built in. It is controlled by simple serial commands from a Stamp or nearly any other microcontroller. This is the module used in the PINK module. Available direct from Netburner.

    Cheers,

    Thanks,

I found this one at a company called Sparkfun:

It is cheaper and has serial connector too.

Do you know if it could work ?

    Thanks,

I've not used SparkFun's module, only read their product page. It sounds like it ought to work. You have to be sure to follow the suggestion in the comments about wiring to the TTL serial I/O connections rather than the RS232 connections which will damage your Stamp if you wire them to I/O pins. The board's TTL serial connections are 3.3V logic and can be damaged if connected directly to a Stamp. You'll need something like a 3.3K resistor in series with them. If you're not comfortable with this sort of hacking, I'd stay away from this module with the Stamp and stick to something made for use with 5V logic.
