I suspect the only people getting rich off that website are divorce lawyers and urologists.

Hard to imagine they are the leaders when they write like this -- purple prose if I've ever seen it: "InnoCentive is the global leader in crowdsourcing innovation problems to the world’s smartest people who compete to provide ideas and solutions to important business, social, policy, scientific, and technical challenges."

Say that fast three times! Then tell me what it all means.

I used to work with P.T. Barnum's grand daughter.. She confirms that his best quote was, “There's a sucker born every minute.”

    Jeff

So true but somewhat outdated. The frequency is considerably higher now.

But Wikipedia insists it was another person who said it, and the attribution to Barnum was from a rival circus owner. Their rationale seems credible. But granddaughters should know...

I often say, "Mongo love candy," but unfortunately I didn't come up with the phrase.

Back to the original question, does this count?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebKit

I don't think anybody gets rich off open source/crowd source per se; they start out rich and use open source to allow others to contribute to the overall work, then get richer. At least that what I do. YMMV.
