As stated above CR/ENTER is not working at all while editing Posts on Windows 8 (ate my computer).
It is needed to switch compatibility to IE9.

Enjoy!

Here is a solution to IE 10 <CR> / Enter not working...
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

Note the torn piece of paper compatibility mode icon is on the top left URL address bar on the right side next to the refresh icon.

This is a known issue with IE10 and vBulletin-based forums...and the final breaking point for me switching to Chrome, which now seems to work right in vBulletin. So one breaks and the other gets fixed. Coincidence?

Except a new install of Chrome on a new install of 64 bit Debian Wheezy refuses to let me edit posts here at all. I can click the buttons but hangs waiting forever. Never seen that problem anywhere else.
Edit: Hmm..seems Tor is right. See below.

Heater, try right-clicking instead, and select 'open in new window'. That works for me.

Tor,You are right. Selecting open in a new tab or window from the pop up menu works.BUT Now I find I my newlines get eaten as the opening poster describes. This on Chrome, which Chris seems to have working OK. Odd.

I've been writing <br> tags since the Forum software was updated a year or two back :)
But I'm sure I have to do that with Firefox (aka Iceweasel) too, so it's a bit strange.

I have never needed to use <p> or <br> to get new lines until recently. I'm swapping from Firefox to Chrome on various Windows Linux boxes all the time.

I found that when using those tags they get cleaned out if I edit the post and that is really annoying.

Edit: I put no <p> or <br> here using Chrome on an XP box.

Edit, that's odd. Of course the are <p> and <br> here. They don't cause any newlines, that's why you can see them.
