Forum password expires?

This morning when I came to the forum, I was logged in but could not access any content, instead getting a message that my password was more than 90 days old and that I had to change it. I've used the same password since the new forum software was introduced, so it was way older than 90 days. Therefore, I guess my question is, "Why now? What transpired to prompt such a change in policy?"

Thanks,
-Phil

I've also had the same password for several years.

Could it be related to your being a moderator?

It's possible, I suppose, since I haven't been a moderator for very long. I never had to change Browser's password, though, when he was the moderator, which he'd been since the new forum software came online.

I just logged out, and logged back in, and didn't get a prompt. I've been using the same password for more than 90 days as well.

Maybe it has something to do with the Traveling Parts Box? :D:D

Why, is the TPB cursed? It does happen to be in my possession at the moment.

And, oddly enough, that's where the trouble began, when I clicked on a forum link in an email related to the TPB. From that point on, I could not access any forum content until I changed my password. Coincidence?

    Coincidence?
Perhaps I've said too much already. I should go now.

Maybe not Coincidence or cursing. Both Forums are vBulletin Forums. I am not registered there and get to a login-box clicking the link. For storing user-session almost all web-applications use session-keys generated by the server-software. If parallax and salvage kept the standard keys instead of creating own ones things like that can happen. So you got logged into salvage by clicking the link to salvage and Parallax refused you password...possible? ... Experiment might tell! ... (sorry for no CRs but enter not working in Windows 8 on this forum?!?) Enjoy! Mike

Okay, doggiedoc, what do you know about the Traveling Parts Box? Is it safe?

    I need to know!
