Does that mean there's something better for debugging Spin code now?

No, ViewPort has not been retired. I'm still actively enhancing it. See
    http://onerobot.org
    for latest developments.

By retired I mean "moved to the discontinued aisle of Parallax's store". I failed to notice the OneRobot purchase page the other night. I've been considering taking the plunge for quite awhile now, just waiting for the opportunity to have someone else pay for it. The time may be now...

Very odd. Parallax still markets ViewPort on their store:
    http://www.parallax.com/Store/Microcontrollers/PropellerTools/tabid/143/ProductID/546/List/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName

I'm assuming this is a mistake, because I can't imagine that Parallax would discontinue a product while still marketing it- all without telling their partner....

This is a Parallax-only product discontinuation, and I'm certain Viewport is continually subject to new improvements from Hanno. With software it's never made too much sense for Parallax to be between the supplier and customer, especially when no physical product is shipped. That's all that's going on here, and we should have told Hanno before we discontinued the product.

Given our close relationship in the past I'm still very surprised I wasn't told about this.

If you're no longer selling ViewPort I would appreciate if the product pages linked to my site rather than stating that the product is out of stock.
Currently potential customers like "Rumble" (see above) get the impression that they're not able to buy the product.

Hanno, yes, no problem. . . wait, I think Lauren has already redirected the pages to OneRobot.org so this is probably old news. And she sincerely apologized for the delay in letting you know in the same e-mail.

...FYI - the link to ViewPort Ultimate on the ViewPort store page redirects to the Parallax home page.

ViewPort Ultimate - Visit One Robot to Purchase

    Hi Dave,

Are you still having the redirect issue? I'm not seeing this on my end.

    Thanks,
    Lauren

    Howdy Ma'am -

Down at the bottom of the ViewPort Standard store page, there is a section called "Related Products". Underneath it is a link to ViewPort Ultimate. That link redirects to the Parallax home page. Appologies for not indicating the offending link correctly.

And yes, at 1:24PST Wednesday, it's still not working correctly.

If I do a search for "ViewPort" the result-site shows two entries

    http://www.parallax.com/tabid/768/txtSearch/viewport/List/0/SortField/4/Default.aspx

both entries have a link to the detail-site.
The name of this link says ViewPort Ultimate - Visit One Robot to Purchase

If you click on it - it shows the detail-site

Now as it is a link and the product is retired this link should redirect right-away to the website onerobot.com
or the name of the link should be changed and you should add a link
    under Downloads & Resources:

    purchase via onerobot (off-site)

As it is now the user has to do a google-search for onerobot or has to type in the url by hand.
In my opinion Hanno's ViewPort is it worth that reaching the site onerobot is just one click away

    best regards
    Stefan

Everything should be working correctly now. I am unable to link the product name off-site but I did add a statement under Downloads & Resources and the cross linking works now. Thanks for the info Stefan and Dave!

Maybe you need to reset your browser's cache. There's a chance that it has cached the old URL and will not link to the correct page until the cache has been cleared.

    Just a guess...

    Hello Hanno,
from http://onerobot.org it is not visible to me what is new in ViewPort.
Is this only visible in the Download?
I saw no reason / indication to check.
And for me as well ... the impession I got is that ViewPort is retired.
So happy to hear it is not.

Will there be a ViewPort for Prop2 ??

    thanks, MJB from Germany

IT and I had it working correctly yesterday when we tried. I'm not sure why it defaulted back. Since it doesn't want to cooperate I removed the related product cross links and instead moved the "ultimate" and "standard" versions up higher on the product pages.

Still seeing the standard redirect to the home page. More troubling, the onerobot purchase page comes up not found. This from their site, and from within the product. Starting to sound retired...

Nope, it's not retired. Where are you seeing ViewPort on the Parallax site?
The purchase page on the onerobot.org site works for me.
