Adding music to videos

I don't usually post stuff like this here, but I'm not getting help elsewhere.
I'm looking for a program to easily (like so my mom can do it) add music to a video. Not an audio swap, but just an addition. We have a list of songs we want to put in a number of videos, and it seems like there may be a program that you can just select which songs you want and output the video. Ultimately, I would love to be able to automate the process, so command line interface would be amazing.
The easiest suggestion I've gotten was to use iMovie, which as of right now, is what I'm planning on doing. So anything easier than that?

Check out VLC, I believe it can be used to add audio to a video.
