I am using PING))) Ultrasonic Distance Sensor, item code : 28015 so as to estimate distance of the front object. Can you please specify what is the field of view for the ping sensor i.e. upto what angle bothways the ping will detect objects.

    Please look at this documentation.
    http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/acc/28015-PING-Sensor-Product-Guide-v2.0.pdf

I believe it will answer your question.
The Ping sensor is a very good sensor.
If you can get the information from Parallax from the link above, I think your question will be answered.
Please keep in mind that the Ping sensor will not see objects that do not reflect sound waves.

If you go to the Parallax store and look for the Ping Sensor documentation,
The link worked for me when I clicked on it.
If you are able to see the Ping Sensor documentation , I think it's a PDF file.
There are some charts listed concerning the field of view.
If you cannot find the information, please say so.
There are many people in this forum that really know about this subject.

In the documentation, there are polar charts showing the sensitivity vs. angle from the device's axis. You won't find a single value field of view because the charts more accurately reflect the device's function.
