SX 'Bot
From the "Sure you can, but why would you want to?" department. I've been working with my SX Tech board lately and began to wonder how it would work driving my Boe Bot.
The SXTB Bot....
Not groundbreaking and probably a step backward for Bob, but it's fun learning to program him with SX/B.
Have a couple of dead reckoning courses set up and he runs them "pretty well". I need to tweak the code to correct a little drift, but no biggie.
Still diddling with Wilbur, Orville, Ted, Percival and Sid.
That's pretty much been my weekend.

... using an SX Blitz.
Martin, you might need to make me an offer on my SX stuff. I haven't used it and probably never will.

Then you can also download the SX/B compiler. That's an add-on for the IDE that lets you write for the SX in Basic-like dialect (easier for the beginner). Don't be fooled by the "beta" -- it's stable release and works quite well.

FYI -- the SX is most like the PIC 8-bit processors (which it was designed to compete with -- albeit at much higher clock speeds).
One think I think is cool is SX/B generates an assembly code version of the Basic program so you can see what the program looks like in asm.

Edit: I'm also using the Tech board to go through the "What's a Mirocontroller" text to see if I can make everything work with the SX. Fun!
