Question about PropBOE and Hanno's 12 Blocks

Is the PropBOE compatible with Hanno's 12 Blocks? I would like to use 12 Blocks with the PropBOE but cannot seem to get it to communicate. My propellor QuickStart Demo board works fine with 12 Blocks, but I cannot seem to find any communication setting in 12 Blocks that works with the PropBOE.What am I missing?
Thanks,
Steve

My PropBOE is sitting right in front of me and I'm working to support it. For now, use the "DemoBoard" library. You can of course "file>import" spin files into 12Blocks and then use the blocks that will be auto-generated for you to take advantage of things like the sd card...

Thanks for the quick response. I am new to both 12 Blocks(currently using the evaluation version) and the Propeller. Do you mean that I could create a program in 12 Blocks, save it in Spin and then download the Spin code to the PropBOE using ???? The part that puzzles me is that both the Quickstart Demo board (which works) and the PropBOE board (which doesn't work) both connect to the PC via a USB cable. I am confused by why 12 Blocks will communicate with one but not the other. I must be overlooking something very basic.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
    I was able to:
    - connect the PropBOE to my PC running 12Blocks
    - select the DemoBoard library and the "Auto" port
    - set up the program as follows

    - press "Run" to blink the LED

    Steve,

Same USB port? Same USB cable?

Does it happen to be a USB3 port? At one time, I believe there were problems with the Propeller BOE on USB3 ports. If so, try a USB2 port instead.

Have you tried the Propeller Spin Tool with the Prop BOE to see if it works?

I switch back and forth between board types and programming tools all the time without any problems. The only thing I avoid are the USB 3 ports on my one laptop.

    Hi Hanno and Rick,

I now have the PropBOE and 12 Blocks running. I was initially using Connect/Disconnect just to try to verify that 12 Blocks could see the PropBOE without writing a program. That always failed and gave an error. Using RUN and the sample code above, it connected and ran the sample code on the first try.

    Thanks for your help,
    Steve

Glad you are up and running!!

I like playing with 12Blocks. Hanno did a super job on it...and ViewPort...and I recently purchased a PropScope, which is cool, too!
