The best three references I have used:

    1. A paper by desilva, the thread is titled machine language tutorial the pdf is in the thread
    2. Assembly for the absolute beginner by Doug Dingus (AKA "the potatohead papers")
    3. Jon Williams Nuts and volts columns "In the Spin Zone". assembly PASM shows up frequently.

There is a quite long thread on assembly for beginners, which value stems from the contributions and corrections and teaching from some of the most knowledgeable and experienced users in the forum, many of whom have made significant efforts to explain and correct things. I learned some really good methods from them. Read especially contributions from kuroneko, heater, potatohead, jazzed, jonnyMac and others.

The last assembly languages i used were ibm 370, sparc, z80 and x86, I was just curious if there is an assembly language reference guide for this processor, most assemblers are bound to their machine language counterparts, therefore each has some differences beyond the norm, just curious.

P.s. 370 was actually fun, but JCL was a bit on the convoluted side......
