US Drop Ship from Ebay Seller Tayda Electronics

A very pleasant surprise, two CD4017s I ordered from Tayda Electronics (Ebay seller, claims shipping from Singapore) just arrived today, shipped from Louisville, CO. Just 5 days after I ordered it, not too shabby! Probably not true for most of their products, but it worked out well in this instance: http://www.ebay.com/sch/taydaelectronics/m.html

This also happened recently on an L298N module, ordered from a different HK seller, but "fulfilled by Amazon" and shipped from Las Vegas in just a few days.

I hope this trend continues!

You can also order from their online store direct: http://www.taydaelectronics.com/

They have been fast on the couple orders I did from them, and I know of others that have used them and gotten quick shipping also. Usually in 4-5 days.

I placed an order with them last week on Thursday, and it got here Wednesday. Only $1.60 for shipping too, they're my first pick supplier for electronic components.

    Hey guys...

Having parts here in the US, ready to ship within one day is why Propellerpowered was created. I carry a lot of very similar items, If the community will give us a chance, we'd like to continue to grow to be one of your first stops before heading to Thailand.

If not, I may be forced to "pack it in" or at least not focus as much effort in a singular direction.

OBC, Propellerpowered is great, but most of the time I'm ordering everything in bulk amount (5 protoboards and 500 4.7k resistors is what my last order consisted of) and Propellerpowered simply can't supply that. $0.12 per resistor is fine in small quantities, but when I'm ordering 500 of them, that's a difference of $55 on a $5 order. When I need small quantities and I want them fast, Propellerpowered is a great outlet, but for my bulk orders (which is almost always what I use Tayda for) it's economically inefficient.
Also, Propellerpowered doesn't stock a very large variety of components. If you have all the parts I need but ONE, and Tayda can give me all of them, Propellerpowered unfortunately loses out.

Jeff, when you have things I want, I go to you first for them. Currently, that's not been a super lot, but I've gotten a few things. Same for when Parallax has stuff I want, I go to them first. Ditto for Sparkfun, Adafruit, and others. I prefer to support my friends and local US companies when I can, but sometimes I have to go overseas. As you grow, and have more products that I want/need, then you will find me on your site more. :)

    Sorry guys,

Guess I should just delete my original post.. 12 hour workdays of design, planning, paperwork, forms, taxes, insurance, more paperwork, are starting to weigh heavy here.

There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff and investments going on at Propellerpowered. It can be a little disheartening to do this much work and see only small returns for it.

Thanks Roy. I'm pondering adding another $2,000 worth of inventory over the next week or so and trying to get a feel for value, risk, and just what dog food the dogs will actually eat. :)

Jeff, no need to apologize, and I guess I'll start checking back a little more often at the PropellerPowered store to see what's new.
I also sent you a PM with some suggestions of things I'd like.

I just visited Tayda's offices in Bangkok.
I am their webmaster and was interested in learning more about their operations.
They work extremely hard on efficiency and same day shipping.
They do very high volume and over the years have negotiated low shipping rates described here.
Bangkok, while very far away from the US is a major shipping hub for DHL and that allows Tayda to get products to the US and the world very quickly.

We are working hard to make the purchase experience better. So Please if you have any comments or suggestions, please share them on the taydaelectronics web site or on their facebook page.

Likewise, if you need any parts for your Parallax projects, just let us know and we will stock them.

Finally, Tayda's owner is looking for a professional manager for customer community. The job is explained here.

If you know any hobbyists who are already writing about electronics on-line, like you all are, please share the opportunity with them.

Bill: Thanks for the offer. For anyone interested, can you confirm what the job pays? The CL ad reads "compensation: 15 - 30 / hour" and telecommuting OK. Is that 15-30 USD and living in the US is OK?
