Carbon monoxide sensor time adjustment

I was wondering if there is a way to shorten the time of the purge and sensing phases of the carbon monoxide gas sensor using the basic stamp 2. For my application I needed a much shorter time and cannot find out if the times given are able to be altered or if they are required.

The times are pretty much required, for the thermal time constant of the heater and for the chemical reactions to reach equilibrium. You can experiment of course to see if it will give useful results.
