I programmed up a Parallax Basic Stamp 2 micro-controller to test decoding examples from the opentrac.org specification sheet with user input of hex using a PC via programming port. All elements have type and length decoded. Originating station, Display Name and Emergency elements fully decoded. I have 54% of the EEPROM filled. I think a transceiver will need the Parallax Propeller Micro-controller. Using VHF, OpenTrac uses 1200 baud AFSK AX.25 just like APRS. Just uses different PID and content.OpenTrac decoder 22 Dec 2012 11_10.bs2 If you are going to use the Prop to decode/encode OPenTrac, the Bell202 object will greatly help out.
