I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year, but.... I've just noticed that my local school calendar ends in June 2013. Could it be that the local School Board knows something we don't?

OMG, the calendar in my checkbook ends Dec 31 2013, that must surely be Doomsday!

Note to self: Don't order more checks than I can use in a year.

The Year of the Snake is coming............

Here in the US I thought that came right after our last election!!! Happy New Year to all.

Who has the best plans? I will, unfortunately, be watching fireworks shoot off the Space Needle from home this year as I have been quite ill.

Ironic that we in California (OK, west coast) who are so progressive and tout so many firsts will be among the last to enter the new year. But on the bright side, we're a few hours younger than our east coast friends.

    Happy New Year to All!

Plans? Home, safe and quiet with wife and daughter and dog and cats. Eating, watching TV and maybe playing some games...watch the ball drop, a kiss and a hug and a shot of egg nog and call it a night.

Some things we have, some take longer. For example, the new iPhone comes standard with a talking artificial intelligence. Siri obeys voice commands, dials phone numbers, performs tasks, and answers most questions you can think of. It's one the most impressive and useful "working" pieces of technology to bring in the New Year.
