Computer not recognizing boe bot?

A few days ago, I got my USB boe bot in mail and installed the basic stamp editor (v2.5.3 I think) on my PC. I wrote a few simple programs just to be sure that everything was in order, and the boe bot worked fine. Recently however, whenever i try to run any programs I see the message "No usable serial ports found" and I am only given the option to click "ok". I re-installed the basic stamp editor and made sure I had the latest USB driver, but I'm still getting the "no usable serial ports" message. So far I've installed the basic stamp editor and the drivers on 3 PCs, 2 were windows 7 and one was vista, and it didn't work on any of them, but on the vista it said "no basic stamps found" rather than "no usable serial ports". Any help would be appreciated, I'm really eager to get started on my boe bot!

Have you installed the Parallax FTDI driver?

As the document is intended for another problem not all of it is relevent, Just use the bits to allow you to free up the ports that are not really in use.

Is it possible that you do not have the BOE BOT microcontroller turned On while attempting to download your
program to the BOE BOT?

From the beginning, I had that trouble.

Also if you are using a 9V battery, you might want to try a new one.

I finally realized that the microcontroller module had somehow been loosened. Everything is working fine now. Thanks to everyone who responded for the help
