Well, I plugged my quickstart and it's newly acquired human interface board to it today, loaded femto basic, and was off and running. It was great, even my wife was impressed. Not sure the kids were all that interested, I didn't have an sd card in it, and hadn't ported any games to it yet, so they weren't willing to take the time to watch it scroll hello up the screen. 
But, that's ok, it was painless to install it, and now I need to figure out how to hack femtobasic to add the ir and audio capabilities to the qs/hi boards. This could be lots of fun.
Thinking of adding a wavplay command to read wav files from the sd card, and play them through the audio out.
As a side note, if I took the output (l/r channels) from the emic2, and wired it up to the audio out ports on the hi board, would it work to send the tts stream out the stereo jack on the hi board? I figure it won't hurt to try it, but I'm curious if anyone already knows the answer.
