PIR sensor reset time

Does anyone know how to reduce the amount of time the PIR takes to reset? It appears the min amount of reset time is 3 sec but I would like it to be less than 3 sec. I would guess I would have to replace a capacitor but not sure which one. Any help is appreciated. thanks

What are you trying to accomplish with the PIR sensor?
The 3 Sec reset time seems to be pretty typical.
There is a discussion concerning the Parallax PIR sensor elsewhere in the sensors part of this forum.
I'm not sure how to add a link to a message reply, but below is the topic from another thread that discusses use of a PIR sensor.

The response time of the PIR sensor is somewhat slow intentionally to account for slow changes in localized IR radiation within its FOV, preventing false positives. If you need a faster response to motion you may need to use a different technology, like the x-band or some other microwave detection. Or maybe something less complex like a simple IR beam break, depending on what you're using it for.
