Question about external DAT file

I am looking at some of Rays sample code and in one of the objects I see this in the DAT section:

DAT       'Data for user font
padding LONG  "A"[4] 'alignment padding for the following user defined characters
TileFont long
file "8x8_tilefont.dat"

in particular the line I'm looking at: file "8x8_tilefont.dat"

Included along with his sample code is a small file named "8x8_tilefont.dat"

My question is how was this file made?

Actually I don't know it, but my guess would be that it's been created with rays font editor:
