Delay time getting a response

I notice that there are occasions where there is a delayed response on the LED. When sending the LED ON in the URL, sometimes the response is instantaneous. Other times there is a period of seconds where there is some TX/RX interactions going on, then the LED response. On a LAN where there is no activity going on other than a periodic email update on a computer, is there a reason why there should be a delay? I notice that when once the device is working with fast response, if you continue to toggle the LED there is no delay. The delay seems to be from a period of inactivity on the Laptop sending the URL to the LAN. It would be nice to find out a trick to keep the browser and LED 'synced' to immediate response. What about sending a dummy variable that the Prop parses but ignores, do this on some interval, which may keep the response at it's quickest?
