How many of us bought a 25th anniversary mystery bag? How many got a SoundPal in the bag and haven't done anything with it? Well until yesterday my SoundPal has been on my to do list, but I finally took it out and learned how to use it. It's awesome! For something so small it is amazingly loud, and once you get the hang of the serial protocol it's pretty easy to use.
If you haven't taken the time I'd suggest cracking open the docs at http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/robo/SoundPAL_doc.pdf and giving it a try. I really like the ability to upload an EEPROM sequence and then auto play on power up. Plus it has a few built in tone sequences which would add great feedback to most projects.

Neither one of which I could live without now...

There is one at the very least, moi. It's shocking how little I accomplish these days with twins and holiday preparation. But you & Tommy's recommendation is enough for me, I shall endeavor to use it often.
From Life of Brian:
Reg: There is not one of us who would not gladly suffer death to rid this country of the Romans once and for all.
Dissenter: Uh, well, one.
I did use it... of course that was a couple of minutes after reading your post and noticing it laying on the desk by my keyboard. ;-)

Well correlation does not imply causation. So I'm going with coincidence!
