Diptrace Newb observation = good stuff = Bay Area Circuits

I thought that I would not just troll but would give some kudos where deserved.

I am new to board layout and very briefly tried Eagle CAD. I very quickly looked for an alternative as I thought that Eagle was NOT user friendly.

The nice folks here on Parallax.com pointed me in the direction of DipTrace Right Move! Thank you.
DT is more user friendly, though a lot of work could still be done.

What I really wanted to say was that, at least for newbies, DipTrace is also really nice for PCB ordering from Bay Area Circuits. No I am not at all affiliated with either DipTrace or Bay Area Circuits.

I just thought that a newb like myself could save some PCB layout SW shopping analysis based on my efforts and just go straight to Diptrace.

Now the thing I really like is that straight on the "File" menu for PCB layout is "Order Board Now" button. NIIIIICE!

1) No need to export and collect gerbers (though I have done this and the option still exists)
2) When done with your work, just click and a price quote for your board pops in seconds (no ordering necessary)
3) The boards are very competitively priced with BatchPCB (maybe 5 bucks more for similar - 5 day - service)
4) Your boards, intellectual property, and your money stay in the USA (the Bay Area, of course)
5) I had some newb questions and was able to online chat (from their web site) with helpful folks at BAC.
6) As I understand, they have a very capable (1000 pins, 2-layers I THINK) FREE version of DipTrace. (of course you have to order through them). I have not tried their re-branded version of DT ... yet.
7) Regardless of whether you ultimately buy DT or not, your layout learning curve will not be wasted if you download Bay Area Circuits free Version.

As you grow, you can shop for other board houses, if you like, export your gerbers/drill, etc. However, I did some comparin' and it seems as though, at leas for a newb, Bay Area Circuits is the PCB ordering "Easy Button." I have ordered twice now.

I just wanted acknowledge good 'ol (American, too) service and value. I am appreciative.
Hope this helps somebody.
