my rfid manual setting is

i) Baud rate (Bits per second) = 9600
ii) Data bits = 8
iii) Parity = None
iv) Stop bits = 1
v) Flow control = None

but when scan i got something unknown values at the end of the data...i just want to read 10 character from the card(it should read only 10 character/interger)...see this image...please help mee

You cannot change the Baud setting of the RFID reader. It's fixed at 2400 Baud. The Baud settings in the PC have to match.

I assume you're talking about this software and the USB RFID Reader.

Which RFID gadget do you have? The read-only version (#28140) is at 2400. The read-write version (#28440) is at 9600.

Just wondering if you grabbed the correct manual.

This is the documentation for Parallax's RFID Reader which only works at 2400 Baud. Parallax does have another RFID device for read/write tags that only works at 9600 Baud (see here). Other companies make other RFID readers and you'd have to consult with their documentation for any information about their RFID readers. What kind of RFID reader do you have?

We can't help you with this RFID reader, sorry. It's neither made nor sold by Parallax and you're not using it with a Parallax microcontroller. It looks like a fairly standard RFID reader though, with a 9600 Baud output and it ought to work with the software posted by Chris Savage once that's modified to work at 9600 Baud, but you're on your own with that. You should contact either the manufacturer or the dealer you bought it from for advice.

Not to stick you out completely in the cold, I will add that your reader is putting out 12 bytes with one byte before and one after the ID. It's likely why your output looks funky.

    Good luck!
