Turkeys invade Brookline, Mass: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/11/wild-turkeys-overrun-brookline-mass

Brookline is right outside Boston, right along the marathon course. I never saw one there. :)

Those wild turkeys look scrawny, tough, and chewy. I prefer the Wild Turkey that comes in a bottle, personally.

I live about 20 minutes from Brookline traveling clockwise around Boston and I've seen all manner of wildlife: coyotes, deer, and turkeys being the most unusual. Geese are so common they're practically a pest.

Peacocks are the local nuisance in the Palos Verdes peninsula near here. They are noisy and territorial, standing defiantly in the road. Big fun when we bike there, rounding a fast downhill bend at 40 MPH and nearly hitting a glaring, defiant peacock. On the plus side, they're colorful, they poop everywhere and wreck property: http://articles.latimes.com/2009/jul/06/local/me-peacocks6 People actually poison them. Sad.
