bargraph frequency analyser - which object could be used as a base?

Hi,

I friend of mine wants to use the propeller-chip for a bargraph frequency analyser
I mean one bargraph for serveral audio frequencies (10kHz, 5 kHz, 2 kHz, 1kHz, 500Hz, 200Hz, 50 Hz)

I searched through the OBEX section signals but did'nt find anything that seems to be a good start.
Does anybody know of an object or would share code that could be used to measure the dB-level
of different frequencies at the same time?
