Nope.. still behind.. Eight colors in VGA.. PMC is sporting 64 colors right now.
Wait until you guys see the next releases of BASIC for the PMC project. Switching video modes, SIDcog (instead of tinysid), and a couple more surprises.
(His website for it is pretty nice... I should probably work on mine. )
Well of course it runs interpreted Basic but it has 40 I/O with built in analog and isn't memory constrained. It's still a old school retro system, it reminds me of my old Atari 800. I'm tempted to get a Olimex knockoff for $30.00. The video certainly could use some upgrading, say like a Gameduino.
In terms of hardware PIC32 has 4x the Ram of the Prop and 512k of Flash and a MIPs architecture which benchmarks(CoreMark) out competitively with M4 Cortex chips running at 168 mhz. Run compiled native code as well. You can even run BSD Unix on it. It surpasses the Prop.
The Pic32 also has a Arduino style IDE thanks to Digilent and works with the Dip28 version as well.
I don't have a dog in this fight, since I only own the Prop and some PicAxes, ColdFires and some Launchpads. But the ArmBasic and PIC32 in Dip28 packages are looking quite attractive for quick and cheap projects. I do like Basic and I like what Arduino people did leveraging existing CS technology and making programming accessible to mere mortals.
And in the interest of full disclosure, I also have no equine to wail against here. I just like fun/cool toys to tinker with, and if there were a propeller based board that offered this kind of mix out of the gate, I would be all over it.

You have inspired me with this idea. You got me to thinking that it may be possible to make a dual monitor system with a gameduino lashed to this rig. Is it just my tinkering mind or is the room spinning?
I looked again at the prop board with the arduino support and that may be the next sand box I go running about in. My new mantra is: I will tinker until the wallet sighs "please no more"... :P
