Screw terminal blocks "PCB mount" right?

I've got a bunch here I bought for kitting servo and more. I'll find the price and stick them in inventory as a standard item later today.
I'll bet shipping from NE Ohio is around 1-2 days to you.

Yeah, RS is a pretty big disappointment sometimes. One of my personal goals years ago was to be better stocked than Radio Shack.
Made the remark to my wife the other day that I'm approaching that goal pretty quickly. They keep making it easier. :)

I go in, and I ask for PCB terminal blocks... I get handed an op amp dip package..............

I ask for desoldering braid... Oh sorry we ran out of that, and we are not going to restock it....
I ask.. but you are going to keep carrying soldering irons and solder ? Yes...... just not desoldering braid !?!?!?! WHAT THE HECK

now I am going to garage sales looking for old electronics Smile that might just have a pcb terminal block in it to buy and take apart.
I really hate where I live sometimes... Although the cows are quite nice...

I've been a customer to Radio Shack since the 1970's.
Radio Shack has lost its way, but I'm thinking they are making an attempt to find their way back to the
Hobby Electronic components market in some manner.

The people at my local Radio Shack know me by name and constantly apologize for not having what I'm needing.
I go in there, look in their components section, purchase what I can and wing it from there.

I would imagine that a person named Forrest Mims was more than likely why Radio Shack had the supplies for projects
stocked back in the 70's and 80's.
Whoever is managing the electronics components supplies for Radio Shack now REALLY does not understand the needs of
    hobby electronics people.

When you sell wire wrap wire and wire wrapping tools without selling wire wrap sockets, there is definitely something wrong.

I think that on some level, the Radio Shack GREAT CREATE promotion on the Radio shack website it attempting to find their way
    back to electronics component competency.

The trouble is that the entire industry has grown so much and choices have become so numerous that even a company that I used to purchase from called Digi-Key is difficult to purchase from.

From Digi-Key, back in the 1980's, I would look through there 50 page catalog and be able to find what I needed.
Now I go to the Digi-Key website and never find anything because of the confusing way it's set up and the thousands of items they
    have to purchase.

    Times are always changing.
I believe simple is better, but I would not want to go back to using my Motorola MC68HC705C8 microcontrollers.

That's just my 2 cents worth.

    Thanks for listening

Wise words from the gentleman from Sheboygan! Here's hoping the Shack finds its way before it goes the way of Hostess Bakery.

Same here, but I haven't gone inside it for well over 5 years, despite the fact that I get my hair cut just two doors down from them in the local strip mall.

Buying on line is the only way to go these days. Give propellerpowered.com a try and if Jeff doesn't have what you need, I'd recommend Mouser. Shipping will run around $6 by USPS, but the lack of sales tax and much lower pricing offsets that. In Oklahoma, you'd probably get stuff from them in two days by either mail or UPS ground (they normally ship same day if you place your order early).

I put 30 of these in stock, and ordered more this morning.. I suspect I have more, but that was a safe number.

Rick stole my thunder but, yeah, the only way to survive and thrive as an electronics tinkerer or professional is via the larger world. Since shipping can affect the bottom line, I lean toward suppliers that offer USPS First Class mail service for the small things (and sometimes not so small - a 50 lb roll of ceramic fiber came by mail once, as did a 25 lb box of kaolin).

From a fellow Oklahoman (but in a big city)... is your Radio Shack a "real" store or just a "dealer"?

The store in Claremore (I used to work there), for example, is a dealer... *very* small print on the outdoor sign. Their excuse, when they didn'd have what I needed, was "we don't have the room to carry that". OK, fine, we all know the world needs 15 zillion RC cars, but no one needs electronic parts.

To their credit, I am seeing more DIY and Parallax products in my local stores. Some of the clerks even know what a capacitor is!
