Propellerpowered needs your patronage

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd post an update on Propellerpowered.com

I've got around 98% of the the items I planned to have in stock. It's shaping up to be a well rounded inventory of items desirable for Propeller users. I'm shipping USPS every weekday with most orders going out within 24 hours of your order. A couple of new Quickstart board designs are in the works, and I'm in regular communication with Parallax to be ready for the new challenges of Propeller 2. Right now, Inventory is comprised of items designed by me, items designed by you on consignment, and items from China and Thailand.

Here's where you come in...

I've sourced several items which could have their prices reduced considerably if we could move a few more a month. Instead of purchasing 5-10 of these items, if we start moving 20-50 of them, I can obtain bulk pricing. I'll reflect that in our pricing and pass the savings to you. Right now I'm eyeballing resistors and HK gadget modules for this change.

We ask that you support Parallax with your patronage as much as possible, but then come pay Propellerpowered a visit on your way off to those "other" big hobby suppliers. You'll find that we're already competitive in many ways. I like those guys, but sometime their prices are somewhat shocking from this perspective.

Wander over and take a peek at what Rebekah and I are up to. http://www.propellerpowered.com

Apologies for a blatant ad, but we created Propellerpowered for you.

Jeff

that pocket mini computer looks really cool. I'm still going to get one, but it brings to mind a possible hardware mod.

I would like the quickstart 40pin female connetor moved or removed. I want to
    a) mount 90 degree pin header on the top and bottom of the quickstart, so i can plug it directly into a breadboard (standing up on edge)
    b) mount the 40 pin female on the BOTTOM of the quickstart, so when i plug in my project board, i still have access to the leds and buttons

would it be possible to get a batch of quickstart WITHOUT the surface mount 40 pin female connector?

Couldn't you do "B" using the second 40pin header?

    Jeff,

Looking forward to having enough free time to buy/build a pocket computer. These days work and other hobbies are taking up the majority of my time.

I have to admit that I'm more interested in "project" type boards and various sensors. I can get things like transistors, resistors, op-amps, etc quickly from any number of distributors.

So I have a confession to make. I've purchased three of Jeff's bargain basement project cases just to get the standoffs. It includes a whole bunch and some matching machine screws for a buck.

Why Martin! You are more than welcome to do that! Poor postman lugged your 11oz of plastic just to deliver your screws. :):)

BTW, I counted only about 8 of those cases left.. If you guys want them... :)
