I'm looking for a eletrically insulating, thermally conductive (somewhat) expoxy adhesive, or at least opinions on which ones have worked best for forum members. My last supply dried up (literally) and before shelling out several hundred dollars for several tubes of the grey, noxious, mix-it-and-pray goop I was wondering if anyone had any brand/model experience (e.g., epo-tek...). Don't care if it's green/environmentally friendly (sorry folks). The intent is to add strength (and some thermal release) to PCB level components. Not so much inerested in potting.

JB Weld has a variety of epoxies that I have used and they work great. Loc-Tite also has some various types but I have not tried any of them yet.

Loc tite super gel stronger than hot glue, just buy a can of acetone to clean it up with too, not suitable for thermal conduction but you should really use a thermal epoxy made for heat sinks if you need to transfer heat

Not epoxy, but you might try some Sugru? I'm not sure of its thermal properties, but I like it for molding and holding small parts in place.

West Epoxy Systems is a very good supplier of bulk epoxy for all sorts of applications. You can get it in many forms, add fillers, and so on. Much depends on how much you need and how serious your insulation requirements are. 220VAC mains is in a different league that 5VDC.

Trying to have electrically insulating and thermally conductive is rather difficult. Most good thermal conductors are also good electrical conductors. You might try mica set on aluminum heat sinks to dump heat to the outside (as the mica insulated the heat sink) and then pot the rest in epoxy of any sort. Of even polyester (used to laminate fiberglass).
