I actually have one of those!!! I bought and hacked a solar cell phone charger. I think it was less than five bucks on ebay. Makes for a cool littlt toy but unless you are in constant light it does not work well. I lve souh of Seattle. There are those that say solar works fine here but I have some lights in the yard that say otherwise!!!
Hi all -
I just thought this was cool, and thought you'd like to know...(boy, talk about a "soft sell" intro ;-)
Solar Panel 6V@1W,125x63mm - nice.
Do you have some numbers for Indoors, and 'window pane' placed, looking the 'wrong' way (shady side of a building), so relying on secondary light scatter.
These look large enough to allow much more mounting/direction tolerance.
Oh, I'm trying to remember the kind of values I got when experimenting with solar cells, I think overcast skies gave between 1/20 to 1/10 of the short-circuit current of full sun, which is going to be around the same ballpark as shady side of building perhaps?

Solar power rocks. I wanna see a giant solar-powered desert rover using that last 5x9 array you showed. What's that good for, about 30 volts at 1.44 amps? My favorite 24V MPJA motors would like that: http://www.mpja.com/24VDC-45-RPM-Gearhead-Motor-with-Wheel/productinfo/17971+MD/

You should know by now that Contests sometimes come in different flavors!
