Hello All,

I am working on this new project and the only thing I want to do by now is to know if the GPS RXM-SG GPS Module w/Ext Antenna kit is good for building my own GPS application with Visual Basic.

The only thing I want is to communicate my laptop to this GPS kit. Is this possible ?

This is the only thing I need to know before buying the kit.

For sure, after I receive it, I will start asking about the code.. hahaha

Thank you in advance.

I don't have any personal experience with this module, but from the product description it sounds as if it can talk to your laptop via USB. Have you downloaded any of the documentation and examples posted at the bottom of the product listing? I believe you will have to talk to this board as if it were a serial port. The output appears to be raw NMEA0183, so your program will have to deal with that. But yes, it appears it can communicate with your laptop. If you're in the US, you might try calling Parallax tech support and asking them. They're very friendly and helpful.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!
